Job Description

We are Wingo NYC – a fundraising, events, and digital communications agency, seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, analytical and creative Events Fundraising Assistant. We build powerful and sustainable individual and major giving campaigns including virtual and in-person galas for social and cultural change. Wingo NYC has strengthened 400+ nonprofit clients since 1996 by providing hands-on nonprofit fundraising, event production and design services.

This full-time staff position will support our fundraising work with clients, focusing on special events and reports to the Director of Special Events Fundraising.

Duties:

  • Join and participate in weekly client meetings, as needed
  • Create and maintain client donor/funder prospect trackers
  • Manage client fundraising appeal data including mailing lists
  • Conduct research to support events, including prospective venues, vendors and client marketing items
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling client meetings and making follow up calls and emails
  • Staff large and small in-person events
  • Manage event income and RSVP tracker spreadsheets with precision and timeliness
  • Implement online ticket, sponsor and auction pages using various software applications
  • Implement event fundraising applications
  • Provide phone and email follow-up to event sponsors and ticket buyers
  • Produce and oversee print and digital mailings
  • Provide other event support, as needed

Experience and Competencies

  • 1-2 years administrative or special event experience and can fill this role with competence, grace and humor.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a “customer service” mindset.
  • Strong executive functioning, analytical, project management, organizational skills and the ability to independently prioritize and plan.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in group settings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms)
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and the missions of our clients
  • Able to work evenings as needed for client meetings and events.

Hours and Compensation

  • Hours: Monday - Friday 10 AM to 6 PM (Required to be in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays).
  • The starting annual salary for this position is $50,000, depending on experience.
  • Benefits include 15 days paid time off plus additional end-of-year office closure days, five sick days, $550 per month towards health insurance, and access to dental and vision insurance, commuter discounts, 401(k) and more.
  • Based in our sun-filled office near the transit hub of Penn Station in Manhattan in New York City.
