Summary

This position is located in the Office of Management and Budget, The incumbent works in National Security Division, Intelligence Programs Branch, assists the President in overseeing the preparation of the Federal Budget for defense and intelligence and related policy work. The Intelligence Programs Branch (IPB) is responsible for a wide range of national security and intelligence policy and program issues.



Duties

As a Program Examiner (National Security), GS-0301-15, your typical work assignments may include the following:

Reviews and analyzes agency submissions, studies, research materials, and other information related to assigned areas.

Prepares answers to correspondence for White House and OMB management. Conducting routine professional correspondence within the agencies within the incumbent's jurisdiction. Utilizing best practices to communicate clearly and concisely. Serves as OMB expert assigned program areas.

Oversees, guides, and coordinates the formulation and execution of budget in assigned areas. Performs legislative, management, financial management, and procurement analyses. Points out issues and problems that require attention.

Develops and analyzes major policy issues, highlighting alternative approaches that might be taken to resolve problems, and makes and defends recommendations. Resolves major policy issues and renders advice and assistance in the administration of operating guidelines, coordination of the division's efforts with other internal activities, and in communicating policies and priorities.
