The United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 3000 is seeking an experienced Membership Services representative with excellent communication and technical skills. In addition to working with UFCW 3000 members, the Membership Services Representative will work with other staff and employer representatives. This position requires strong analytical, multitasking, and organizational skills, to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations, manage and maintain member accounts by monitoring incoming payments, post finance and file imports along with other duties.


Responsibilities:

●       Work quickly and accurately in a custom, web-based database - searching for specific information, editing records, and generally taking ownership over the quality of the membership data contained within.

●       Work collaboratively within the membership team, as well as independently.

●       Is accountable for the quality of member database records related to dues and member/employer information.

●       Work with aggressive and fast-moving deadlines, with the ability to maintain employer and member accounts on a timely basis while simultaneously assisting members on the phone.

●       Analyze accounts receivable and remedy discrepancies in the database and resolve member issues.

●       Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

●       Must be prompt, motivated, and willing to learn as the local grows.


Requirements and Skills:

·        Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

·        Strong data entry skills – populating basic forms quickly and accurately.

·        Must be detailed oriented with experience in preparing, administering, and maintaining a variety of electronic reports for Local 3000 staff.

·        At least 2 years of work experience as Accounts Receivable Clerk or Bookkeeper.

·        Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

·        Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.

·        Experience in operating spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

·        Superior customer service experience required.

·        Professional communication - in-person, meetings, email, telephone, etc. - is necessary.

·        Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is preferred but not required.
