Job Description

Development Director

Start Date: October 2024

Work Location: Remote

Supervised by: Executive Director

Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary Range: $91,638 - $98,038

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Hand in Hand: The Domestic Employers Network (HIH) is a national organization committed to building a more just and caring economy starting in our homes and communities. We support employers of nannies, house cleaners, home care workers, and attendants, their families and allies, to understand that their homes are workplaces. We organize people to stand in solidarity with domestic workers in their fight to win labor rights and protections to demand dignity and fairness, and to win public investment in care for families, people with disabilities, and older adults.

Hand in Hand works closely with our sister organization, the National Domestic Workers Alliance. We are committed to righting the historic wrongs, rooted in the legacy of slavery, that excluded domestic workers from our country’s labor and civil rights laws.

Currently, HIH staff are located in California, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington and include parents, caregivers, former workers and current and past domestic employers. Over the last four years, HIH has grown from a staff of thirteen to eighteen staff and from an annual budget of $1.5 million to $2.3 million.

HIH is a fiscally sponsored project of Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice.
