We are seeking a Full-Time Jewish Educator for Yachad, CBE’s Religious Education Program. Yachad serves nearly 500 students with full-time educators learning, creating curriculum and sustaining meaningful community for themselves, their students and families. Members of the Yachad full-time and part-time team receive ongoing professional and leadership development training throughout the year.

CBE believes in ongoing Jewish exploration and living through deep Judaic and ritual exploration. Key Responsibilities

  • Create exciting curriculum, lesson plans, programming opportunities, and act as point person for grades or content areas (Hebrew, Social Justice, Sensory Sensitive Programs) where you are the Lead Educator.
  • Work in partnership with fellow full-time educators, part-time educators, and madrichim (teen assistants) in implementing curriculum and programming for all families.
  • Coordinate with the Learning Specialist to ensure curricular content is being presented thoughtfully and in a way that works for a variety of learning styles.
  • Manage grade-wide communications for the grades you are responsible for.
  • Teach a variety of classes in grades K-12 in both Jewish Studies & Hebrew
  • Learning, using content created by other Full-Time Yachad Educators.
  • Manage all administrative duties for each class you teach including, but not limited to: regular attendance, communication with part-time teachers, follow-up communications with families, etc.
  • Create strong relationships with students & families, and work to encourage relationships between the two. We teach kids, but we want to engage the whole family!
  • Proactively, and consistently engage parents in communication about their child(ren)’s progress, both in Jewish Studies and in Hebrew - in-person and/or electronically.
  • Be a part of the planning and execution of all grade-wide programs for grades you are responsible for, as well as select Yachad-wide family programs around Shabbat and the holidays (including either Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur).
  • Depending on need, this position may be asked to support the planning and running of some off-site trips / retreats.
  • Act as a resource and collaborative partner for all fellow Full-Time Yachad Educators.
  • Able to be a team player as a full-time member of the CBE staff and the Yachad staff.


Qualifications and Expectations

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 - 3 years of teaching experience, or leading in a similar setting.
  • Background and experience in most or all:
  • pedagogy
  • curriculum development
  • lesson planning
  • Jewish summer camp
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills
  • Desire and ability to work with children and young adults
  • Knowledge and ability to lead Jewish education & experiences
  • Working knowledge of Hebrew and ability to teach students Hebrew decoding (not fluent / conversational Hebrew)
  • Judaic Content knowledge in text, ritual, history
  • Be a self-starter and able to work with minimum amount of supervision
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and as part of a team

Department:  Yachad 

Schedule: This is a full-time position with Sundays and Mondays off. This position requires the ability to work Saturday mornings, some weekday evenings, and select holidays.  The position is year-round with light summer months of June and July.

Start Date: August 14, 2024

Salary Range: $50k-$60k
