The Office of Senator Adam Schiff is seeking a Speechwriter to lead all speechwriting for his Washington, DC office. 

Responsibilities include drafting, editing, and finalizing remarks for events in Washington, DC and in state, including floor speeches, recorded remarks, and a wide range of public events. 

The Speechwriter will also assist in drafting and finalizing op-eds, statements, and other written materials; drafting and editing scripts for pre-recorded remarks; working with the Communications Director to propose and pitch concepts for op-eds, statements, essays, long-form speeches, and other communications projects to leverage news cycles; copy editing all published communications work and serving as a grammar and style expert for the entire office; working closely with the press team and senior staff to assist with other writing and messaging needs as they come up. 

Qualified candidates will have at least 2-5 years of political and policy communications experience, preferably in speechwriting. Strong writing, research, and proofreading skills are required, as is attention to detail. 

This is a full-time in-person position. Salary commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for all Senate employee benefits. Senator Schiff’s office is an equal opportunity employer.
