Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-7) seeks a positive, well-organized, and detail-oriented Press Assistant for the Washington, DC office.  

Strong candidates will have excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail, be a team player with a positive attitude, be able to anticipate problems and offer solutions, communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment with good humor, and work effectively with different teams in both the DC and Houston offices. 

Press assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating graphics and video content, drafting newsletters, drafting media advisories and press releases, managing the website, drafting social media, drafting talking points, compiling news clips, and updating press lists. This is a full-time position that requires availability outside of traditional working hours to support an active press operation and execute the Member’s strategic communications plan.

Texas ties are encouraged but not required. Video editing and graphic design skills are highly desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience, and student loan repayment is available.
