Salary: $17.05-$24.51 per hour depending on school credits and qualifications.

The Position
Duties
MAG is seeking a bright, driven, team-oriented professional to fill the policy and government relations internship position. The primary focus of the position will be to assist in supporting the executive office, organizing and supporting meetings, and implementation of projects and activities. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Support initiatives of the executive office, including research, engagement with stakeholders, and project management.
- Under the direction of the chief of staff, build relationships with member agency staff.
- Draft, edit and update various forms of communication, such as letters, reports, meeting minutes, and presentations.
- Support policy committee activities.
The position will provide exposure to a wide range of local elected and appointed officials. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to engage widely within the agency, coordinating with staff across divisions at MAG.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and organized, with a keen attention to detail. The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be comfortable multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment, and be proactive. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required.
Experience and Education
Relevant education and experience is desired.
Hours
Approximately 20 to 40 hours per week Monday – Friday. Length of the internship will be determined based on candidate’s preferences, qualifications and performance.
