Senator Tim Sheehy seeks to hire a proactive, resourceful individual who will be responsible for developing excellent working relationships with key government stakeholders and have an exceptional understanding of the legislative process. Your insights and strategic mindset will contribute to supporting the Legislative Aide and be responsible for constituent outreach and communications. Applicants must have a solid strategic mindset to manage portfolio assignments, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to represent the office to constituents and advocacy groups in a positive manner.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Sorts incoming constituent correspondence in the office’s constituent relations management (CRM) system.
  • Conducts research and drafts form letters to respond to general correspondence.
  • Drafts individualized responses to letters that cannot be answered with a standard form letter.
  • As needed, support senior legislative staff with research, legislation tracking, hearing preparation, and other responsibilities.
  • Meets with constituent groups about issues of interest and concern.
  • Translate policy into accessible terms.


Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years of congressional staff experience in legislative areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Strong time-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of planning, executing, and managing complex projects.
  • Understanding of legal requirements and policies to minimize risks while supporting the organization’s mission.
  • Familiarity with CMS software.
  • Have a proven record of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience of attention to detail and working efficiently.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills to develop ongoing relationships.
