The Harris For President Campaign is seeking a Director of Advance to build a team to manage the campaign engagements of senior campaign principals. This person will be tasked with tracking engagements from conception through completion by working with staff and leadership at campaign headquarters and with our state teams. A good candidate for this role will be able to move projects forward and serve as a source of information sharing throughout the campaign. The candidate will need to manage the look and feel of each campaign event through the end of the cycle in collaboration with the Campaign’s Scheduling and Advance Team, both in Wilmington and throughout the country.


Key Responsibilities

  • Shepherd campaign engagements from conception through execution
  • Recruit, hire, train and manage a team in Wilmington and throughout the country
  • Develop new formats for campaign principals to engage voters
  • Oversee and approve budgets for principal travel, production, staffing and operational costs
  • Be a creative leader on the S&A team and greater campaign team
  • Build strong working relationships with teams across the campaign, including leadership, Operations, Finance, Legal and our state based teams
  • Partner with campaign staff and administration counterparts to ensure the safety and security of campaign principals, staff, supporters and the general public

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Scheduling and Advance Experience, including Campaign work
  • Management Experience
  • Good understanding of Presidential level production and television quality expectations in a variety of settings
  • A passion for coaching a team and developing new talent including providing constructive feedback to improve the performance of the campaign’s advance team
