THE ROLE
The Data Coordinator (DC) is a part time, 1099 position that fulfills an integral role in NPAG’s success, ensuring that research roadmaps and strategies are thoroughly and successfully executed through detailed data entry, management, and communication. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and values-aligned problem solver to help us perfect the research function at NPAG, enabling us to deliver the highest quality experiences and results with our clients. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful candidates will, first and foremost, be committed to serving the missions of our clients - including but not limited to their support of movements effecting change that advances racial equity and justice, immigrant rights, finance reform toward economic justice, child welfare, gender justice, educational excellence and opportunity, and environmental stewardship.
Execution of Research Strategies
The Data Coordinator will be responsible for identifying potential candidates and mapping relevant networks in a timely and effective way. This requires the DC to:
- Translate network roadmap into data collection process.
- Perform data entry tasks, with a focus on research roadmaps, in a timely manner.
- Utilize multiple database and technology resources to ensure data sets are complete.
- Identify existing research and collect contacts to support the build of a deep and relevant candidate and sourcing pool for our searches.
- Assess and counter bias in research efforts.
Data Hygiene
The Data Coordinator will assist the Senior Manager, Research & Knowledge, in organizing, and reconciling profile data in a way that is both accessible and understandable for client teams. This role needs to have a detailed understanding of the NPAG systems to ensure data and documents are effectively organized and maintained. This requires the DC to:
- Periodically review data and update outdated information.
- Periodically screen for duplicate data and remove any found duplicates.
- Address missing and/or incorrect data requests such as missing emails or email bouncebacks.
Project Communication
Our team works on several client engagements concurrently. This requires the DC to:
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Research & Knowledge to make sure projects are on track.
- Communicate any difficulties or roadblocks with data entry in a timely manner.
- Prioritize needs and multi-task to ensure projects are completed on time.
Team Engagement
The Research team has recently gone through a redesign. A successful candidate will contribute to the development of the team, and the research function in the firm. Candidates should:
- Contribute to a growing enterprise with the ability to communicate feedback to increase efficiencies both within the position as well as related to the research function in the company.

ATTRIBUTES, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will have cultivated and demonstrated the following competencies in their previous experiences:
- An attention to detail, resulting in impeccably entered and managed data, including verification of data as compared to source documents.
- Strong proficiency with technology and data collection tools including spreadsheets, research terminology, customer relationship management (CRM) software, and databases.
- Ability to juggle competing demands and prioritize without sacrificing quality. Respond to requests in a timely manner and take pride in providing a clear, helpful product.
- Ability to work independently, anticipate problems, and problem-solve effectively without much guidance, but also isn’t afraid to ask questions.
- Creative and curious approach to problem solving that incorporates a variety of traditional and non-traditional tools.
- Ability to pivot and adapt to different systems, processes, or changes.
- Employ creative approaches to unique client engagements, seeking out resources that meet client needs. This person understands that there is always something new to learn.
- Ability to work across a team, with excellent verbal and written communication, and to balance multiple lines of communication to ensure internal coordination.
- Fluency and savvy with web-based technologies and apps such as the Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams), SharePoint, Zoom, as well as other project/work management tools such as CRM software or other database experience is preferred.
