About the Role:
The Director of Global Citizenship Media Relations is an integral part of Latham’s Brand and Communications team. This role will be responsible for leading, developing, and implementing media relations and brand communications strategies for the firm, while creating and executing strategic media relations to promote the firm’s brand, culture, values, and citizenship programs, including the firm’s market-leading pro bono, DE&I, and environmental sustainability programs. This role will be located in either our New York or Washington, D.C. office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. Occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Other key responsibilities include:
Identifying opportunities to secure positive media coverage and lead on proactive media outreach campaigns
Serving as a primary point of contact for media inquiries for citizenship-related inquiries including in support of pro bono matters and a range of firm citizenship programs
Developing and implementing strategic communication plans and providing functional support for the firm’s response plans, including developing protocols and templates to support real-time issues management and cross-functional communications responses
Preparing communication materials to support the firm’s citizenship programs including messaging, scenario planning, audience mapping, and monitoring, among other activities
Coordinating efforts of outside Public Relations (“PR”) and communications agencies on global issues, which include but are not limited to firm reputation and specific issues
Working closely with the firm’s social media and digital teams to support social media engagement and reputation / issues management across social media platforms
Understanding and utilizing media monitoring and other platforms as a tool for reputation management and engagement
Coordinating with the broader PR and communications team to ensure a unified and consistent message across all communication channels

Display professional communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, vendors, and staff throughout the firm
Demonstrate the ability to take initiative to work both independently and in a team environment with a customer-service focus
Possess the ability to multi-task and adapt to continuously evolving technology platforms
And have:
A Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of fifteen (15) years of prior professional senior-level PR and communications experience

Pay Range: USD $250,000.00 - USD $285,000.00 /Yr.
