Job Summary

KABOOM! is looking for a Partnership Manager focused on managing and deepening relationships with current and prospective corporate and foundations donors, as well as the successful fulfillment of both high-profile and complex partnership agreements. The ideal candidate will maintain a proactive approach to renewal strategy, while acting as a partnership communications resource to leverage internal and external positioning with our partners. The Partnership Manager works closely with a corporate development counterpart.

 

The individual selected for this role will work with funding partners to manage the scope and scale of their partnerships; leverage turn-key partnership moments to increase visibility for KABOOM! and the cause of playspace equity; manage challenges and problem-solve with funders; communicate effectively and work closely across organizational teams; act as a liaison between funders, community partners, and KABOOM! staff; and lead partnership renewals. Racial equity and community responsiveness is at the center of our work and the ideal candidate will have a shared passion for joining the racial justice movement to address inequitable access to playspaces in communities impacted by structural racism. The Partnership Manager contributes to the success of KABOOM! strategic priorities, and acts as an exemplar of our purpose of racial equity, community, and PLAYce serving as an external spokesperson for partnerships.

 

What you will do:

Partnership Management & Renewal

  • Oversee some of our most complex and large-scale funder relationships through introductory conversations, engagement, contract execution, and partnership renewal
  • Maintain excellent cross-functional communications and collaboration with Programs, Finance, programmatic subject matter experts, External Affairs and other stakeholders to successfully execute on partnerships
  • Represent KABOOM! to our funders and other external stakeholders by attending in-person and virtual partner/prospect meetings, design days, build weeks, and other events; participating in conferences; and/or publically speaking on behalf of KABOOM!
  • Serve as the lead for partnership stewardship activities and reporting

 

Strategy Development & Management

  • Help to develop and lead partner communication plans that effectively position our cause, initiatives, and expertise, while working alongside External Affairs, to ensure the potential of KABOOM! and our partner networks are maximized
  • Expand and deepen relationships with our funders with the goal of playspace equity in mind, including by building greater engagement and awareness of our strategies with funder executives and leadership
  • Provide increased value to our funders by thinking creatively on ways to celebrate and advance partnership goals via a variety of means including, but not limited to, storytelling, media engagement, and other recognition strategies
  • Keep abreast of trends in corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, volunteerism, equity, and place-based giving

What you will have:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience with a nonprofit organization and/or corporate foundation or in similar work environment, in a partnership management, project management, development, communications or related role
  • Track record of verifiable success as evidenced through job experiences, accomplishments and achievements in cultivating partner relationships, and quick and independent problem-solving
  • A sharp mind, top-notch critical thinking and organizational capabilities, adept at quickly absorbing information from various angles, always keeping an eye on the big picture while maintaining superior attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak extemporaneously on partner relationships and programming
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders and colleagues
  • Advanced education or training in fundraising, cause-marketing partnerships, public relations, partnership and/or account management, or business development is a plus
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work style with self-motivation and drive to get the job done with little supervision
  • Proficiency in Salesforce as a platform for partnership management a plus
  • Expertise in PowerPoint a plus
  • Covid-19 Vaccination required
