ABOUT THE ROLE

The Program Associate, OutcomesAI is deeply committed to delivering better community outcomes using AI. Deploying AI for mission related goals is a new field and candidates must be curious, entrepreneurial, have a growth mindset, and enjoy working in collaboration. In this role, you will provide coordination and support on key activities for the newly launching OutcomesAI practice area. You will ensure that coordination and execution are of high quality and meet practice, client, and organizational objectives. Key activities will include project management support, content preparation for client engagements, communities of practice, research, and projects, supporting meetings, coordinating logistics, and conducting research and stakeholder interviews. Additional activities will include support for grant and contract research, proposals, policy research, and publication review. The Program Associate will interface with clients, consultants, and key external and internal stakeholders across Project Evident and function as part of the Outcomes AI team. 

You will report to the Managing Director of OutcomesAI, Sarah Di Troia, and work closely with other members of the larger Project Evident team.

Below is a full list of responsibilities you can expect in this role:

Engagement & Project Delivery (70%)

  • Support engagement delivery through effective coordination, client relationship management, and excellent content development. Engagements include, but are not limited to, communities of practice, development of case studies or field-building content, providing training sessions, conducting workshops, facilitating coaching, to support the use of data, technology and ethical AI for the delivery of outcomes.
  • Ensure excellent document review process, track and conduct necessary document synthesis, shepherd agendas, share key materials, and ensure timely and accurate knowledge management.
  • Draft, write, and edit high quality documents and video content for internal and external presentations and publications, including but not limited to webinars, podcasts, reports, and case studies. 
  • Conduct and summarize research and surveys on policies and publicly available information, conduct client interviews, and assist with qualitative analysis of information obtained.
  • Works with the team to create tools & resources that can be used for field building, multiple engagements, and building the knowledge base for a variety of formats including large language models.
  • Provide effective convening and facilitation support for participants in communities of practice, cohorts, and one-to-one client engagements. 
  • Stay abreast of field currents related to data, evidence, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence in the social and education sectors. 
  • Represent or attend key meetings, webinars, and podcasts on themes relevant to practice priorities and ensure timely and accurate feedback to the team. 

Practice Operations (30%) 

  • Support the Managing Director, Director, and the practice team to anticipate needs, deliver priorities, and interface with the larger Project Evident team and our network partners. 
  • Works with the practice team to identify and share learning with the broader Project Evident team.
  • Assist with internal and external meeting preparation and logistics. 
  • Support business development activities, including researching potential opportunities, drafting grant proposals and ensuring accurate data and reporting. 
  • Ensure timely and clean data and fully utilize digital tools to excellent practice operations and reporting.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, technology concentration or experience preferred
  • 2+ years experience working in client-facing contexts
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • A genuine interest in technology and education, workforce development and/or wellbeing outcomes. 
  • Data science, social or education sector experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Study or experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data science 
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
  • Proven ability to work under tight timelines, accurately assess problems, and develop solutions; ability to effectively prioritize time and tasks.
  • Experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders who may have evolving priorities.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to respond adeptly to rapidly changing priorities, comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment with fast deadlines.
  • Problem solver, and active listener who seeks clarification, asks questions, and surfaces solutions. 
  • Ability to read and interpret data visualizations.
  • Self-starter able to independently research and consolidate information including technical documentation and policy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to write clear and concise memos.
  • Commitment to high-performance culture, participation in giving and receiving feedback, and belief in continuous and self-improvement.
  • Interest in the social and education sectors. Knowledge of evidence-based policy/practice, nonprofit evaluation, and performance management disciplines is a plus.
  • High degree of proficiency with Google and Microsoft software including Docs/Word, Slides/Powerpoint, Sheets/Excel, Asana, and SalesForce.
  • Familiarity with group collaboration tools (we use Slack, Google Team Drive, Zoom) or willingness to learn.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and extremely high standards for accuracy.
  • Proficient in using technology and curious about learning new systems.
  • Comfortable in a virtual, distributed environment with fast deadlines.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and a deep commitment to learning, performance, racial equity, and building a culture of belonging.
