Senior Accountant – Finance & Accounting Team – Global Impact

About You

You’re a detail-oriented Senior Accountant, interested in joining our combined Nonprofit and corporate finance team (Global Impact (nonprofit 501c3), Geneva Global (for profit), Capital for Good (nonprofit 501c3), Global Impact Social Welfare Fund (nonprofit 501c4)).

You have a strong background in accounting, with the ability to manage and monitor contracts, handle complex billing processes, reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure compliance with GAAP principles. Maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the annual audit, month-end and year-end close process, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our financial procedures are all skills you thrive on!

Responsibilities

  • Oversee current and incoming contracts and service agreements to ensure correct pricing and information, documenting them under the appropriate revenue recognition guidelines (ASC 606).
  • Create and maintain new and existing client projects in BigTime as specified in the Client On-Boarding process.
  • Maintain and reconcile the revenue tracker, fiscal year revenue trackers, and related monthly financial schedules, collaborating with the Staff Accountant to ensure timely monthly billing to customers.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Prepare monthly revenue projections and six-month cash flow forecasts to support financial planning.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and completed on time.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for the annual audit and 990 processes, ensuring adherence to GAAP principles.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls and improve financial procedures.
  • Work closely with Accounting Managers to refine financial processes and contribute to the department’s goal setting.
  • Participate in special projects as needed to support the finance team and broader organizational goals.

Qualifying for this role means you have a BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field and proven experience as a senior accountant for 2-3 years. You have an in-depth understanding of GAAP, basic accounting principles and month-end/year-end close process. You have a strong technical knowledge of GAAP principles, particularly ASC 606 Proficiency in Bill.com, accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Excel. Your team will be able to rely on you for your problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to take projects forward to the next step along with your in-depth knowledge of compliance!

Working at Global Impact

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for more than one year. Visa sponsorship is not available. This is a full-time position with the potential to be fully remote – must be able to work majority of hours in the eastern or central time zone.

The salary range is $85,000 - $90,000, depending on the experience you bring. On top of the competitive salary that we are offering, you’ll receive 16 paid holidays and 25 paid days off.
