Hiring: Campaign Organizers in IL-17

The Eric Sorensen Campaign in Illinois’ 17th Congressional District is hiring Organizers for the 2024 election cycle. IL-17 is one of the most competitive congressional races in the 2024 cycle and Organizers will make the difference yet again in keeping the district blue this year. The role is full-time and will be based in-person, out of northwestern Illinois (Quad Cities, Rockford, Peoria, and Bloomington-Normal areas).

Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to expand the volunteer network for the campaign
  • Managing and executing voter contact tactics such as phone banks, canvasses, voter registration drives, text banks, and visibility events
  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers around voter protection and voter registration efforts

Qualifications:

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to the election of Democrats up and down the ballot
  • Adaptable to changing needs and program priorities
  • Previous political campaign experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence —the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways
  • Have a personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability;
  • Excellent organizational, management, and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Current driver’s license

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $3,484.00 - $3,508.00 per month
