Please Note: The starting salary offer will be determined based on the successful candidates’ qualifications within the budgeted salary range of $60,000 - $70,000 annually. However, there is ability for longevity growth and progression in salary for the individual once employed.
What this job is about:

As our Project Manager – Economic & Legislative Affairs, you will lead the day-to-day project management of “Activate 3.8,” a statewide campaign to close the gender wage gap in Washington. Leading up to and during legislative session, this role will support the Program Manager - Operations & Legislative Affairs in planning and executing WSWC’s legislative advocacy.

Duties

What you'll do:

  • Drive project management of the “Activate 3.8” campaign to execute the Commission’s work on “promoting equal compensation and fairness in employment for women (RCW 43.119.005).”
  • Work closely with WSWC’s Communications & Outreach Coordinator, Program Manager – Interagency Coordination, Executive Director, and other team members to design a roadmap for delivering on the four pillars of the campaign (Early Learning, Early Career, Mid Career, Senior Level).
  • In consultation with the WSWC team and Executive Director, set measurable goals and time-bound milestones to track progress made by the “Activate 3.8” campaign.
  • Collaborate with counterparts in agencies and organizations that are partnering with WSWC on “Activate 3.8” to coordinate their participation and contributions to the campaign.
  • Support the agency’s 10 city gender pay equity tour with preparation and on-site coordination.
  • Support the Program Manager – Operations & Legislative Affairs leading up to and during legislative session in planning and executing WSWC’s policy advocacy.
  • Support the publication and promotion of the agency’s biennial report and strategic plans.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in project/program management, administration, public policy, gender/women’s studies, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience working in project/program management, advocacy, legislative affairs, public policy, or other closely related field.*
  • Experience drafting and editing professional correspondence, presentations and reports.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software products such as Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
Note: *Additional education or professional certification may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Desired:
  • Four (4) years of professional experience working in project/program management, administration, public policy, and/or legislative affairs.
  • Project management certification.
  • Knowledge of topics and policy issues affecting women’s health, safety, and economic opportunity/security.
  • Public sector experience - understanding of the functioning of state government, the legislative system, and individual state agencies.
  • Experience researching, developing, and presenting strategy options and recommendations.
