Description
SAIC is actively seeking a Strategic Communications Analyst to join our team in support of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense Manpower and Reserve Affairs (OASD(M&RA)), Military Personnel Policy (MPP) Financial Readiness (FINRED) office.
Work is onsite at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. 3 days per week/ telework 2 days per week, with a possibility of onsite moving to 5 days per week. Position requires 8-hour duty day / 40 hours weekly including FINRED core hours of Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Must be able to attend 8:00am meeting everyday M-F.
Job Duties:
- Support the Financial Readiness strategic communications program by drafting talking points, briefing materials, and staff packages using appropriate DoD templates and standards.
- Complete program and project management support activities related to the development, update, and record-keeping of strategic communication materials used to support DoD financial literacy education materials, to include obtaining and filing final files and other original materials produced for FINRED according to DoD requirements on government servers.
- Assist in communicating Financial Readiness strategic vision and mission through document editing, alignment, and review.
- Develop memorandums, information papers, talking points, and briefings for senior DoD leaders that communicate policies, positions, program information, requirements, and requests for action.
- Coordinate work products with FINRED’s OSD and Service counterparts, to include both quick response and longer-term assignments.
- Plan, research, prepare, develop, coordinate, and track staff packages in support of communication plans, promotional materials, studies, and other staffing requirements in accordance with DoD standards and within prescribed deadlines.
- Plan, organize, and execute events and meetings in support of strategic communications and other FINRED efforts.
- Develop, collate, edit, and publish monthly electronic newsletters and other writing projects in support of the FINRED strategic communications program. Tasks will require advance planning and close coordination with internal and external government offices.
- Work with other DoD interests and other government and non-governmental interests under the supervision of the FINRED Strategic Communications Manager.
- Some travel could be required but is limited and not regular. One or two times a year can be expected to attend symposiums or conferences.

Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience OR Master's degree and 8+ years of experience. Candidates with different experience levels also encouraged to apply.
Required Experience:
- Ability to grow into the position to understand and eventually implement the Financial Readiness mission and workflow processes, work independently to accomplish assignments, and make informed recommendations under general direction from on site management.
- Experience reviewing, responding, and routing policy and directives thru staffing and service approval.
- Familiarity with DoD Forms, Directives, Instructions, and Federal Register Notice Staffing processes.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and written.
- Must be a quick learner and able to follow oral or written instructions with minimal follow-up.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be able to work quickly and respond to RFIs/Tasks.
- Must be able to present information to Senior Executive Service, Political Appointees, and General Officers as needed.
- Demonstrated experience working in a high pace, high demand tempo organization within DoD.
- Familiarity with the Pentagon and previous experience supporting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense level directors a plus.
- Knowledge related to unique factors of military life is a plus.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
