Overall Purpose: Plans and implements strategy for achieving regulatory and policy objectives favorable to AT&T, including:

Interfacing with and advocating before Federal Regulatory entities (Federal Communications Commission (FCC) or National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), for example).

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Interprets, sets and defends policies in front of regulatory and legislative bodies, as well as public forums.

  • Represents company before regulatory bodies.

  • Plans and implements overall strategies necessary to ensure regulatory approval and effective positioning of products and services.

  • Reviews and summarizes major regulatory issues.

  • Monitors overall compliance with commission rules and guidelines.

  • Creates a favorable regulatory/legislative climate for the company by advocating its positions before legislative, regulatory or other agencies of local, state, or federal government.

  • Prepares and contributes to policy formulation.

Experience advocating before the Federal Communications Commission preferred.

Education: Bachelors Degree required, Juris Doctorate preferred.

Experience: Typically requires 5 or more years of experience.

Supervisory: No.
