Communications Director

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Communications will lead BPI's communications strategy and execution as we expand our presence in Washington, D.C. This role is critical in establishing BPI as the preeminent voice on Bitcoin policy education and research.

• Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies aligned with BPI's mission and strategic goals
• Manage BPI's public relations, media relations, and digital presence
• Write blog posts and social media content
• Help BPI’s experts connect with journalists, media outlets, and public speaking engagements
• Manage production and marketing of BPI podcast
• Work with Research team to produce policy-focused webinars
• Craft messaging for public statements regarding BPI research and content
• Serve as primary media contact and spokesperson when appropriate
• Collaborate with Government Affairs and Research teams to amplify policy initiatives
• Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts, particularly in D.C.
• Manage BPI's brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms

Qualifications

• 3+ years of communications experience, preferably in policy, think tanks, or government relations
• Strong track record of placing stories and op-eds in major media outlets
• Experience managing complex communications campaigns
• Excellent writing and editing skills (required)
• Familiarity with Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and financial technology
• Experience managing podcasts and digital content production
• Strong project management skills and experience with CRM tools
• Based in Washington, D.C. or willing to relocate (required)
