ABOUT LABORATORY TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING
The Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking (LCHT) is a leader in Colorado’s anti-trafficking movement. Since 2005, we have trained over 75,000 professionals and community members, conducted research to drive action and inform policy change, operated the statewide 24/7 human trafficking hotline, and developed over 200 future human rights leaders.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Development Manager is a full-time, exempt employee reporting to the Development and Communications Director. This position is responsible for executing key fundraising activities to sustain LCHT’s programs. The Development Manager plays a vital role in donor acknowledgment and stewardship, data management, event planning, and business sponsorship to enhance engagement and financial support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor Engagement and Data Management
- Manage donor acknowledgments with timely, personalized thank-you communications via letters, emails, and calls
- Manage LCHT’s donor database (Salesforce NPSP), ensuring accuracy in donor records, gift tracking, and reporting
- Maintain and segment donor lists for effective fundraising outreach and communications
- Coordinate with the accounting/bookkeeping team to reconcile donor records and financial reporting, ensuring data consistency and integrity
- Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain small- and mid-level donors through personalized outreach and stewardship efforts, including expanding and strengthening LCHT’s recurring giving program, Lab Catalyst
- Assist in identifying and collecting impact stories from donors, volunteers, and partners to support fundraising and communications efforts
Fundraising Events and Campaign Support
- Lead the planning and execution of LCHT’s annual fundraising events, with a primary focus on the end-of-year Colorado Gives Day event, including coordinating and managing event volunteers
- Handle event logistics, secure venues, manage vendors, oversee promotions, and coordinate volunteers
- Work closely with the communications team to develop event messaging, materials, and invitations
- Provide general support for the success of LCHT’s end-of-year giving campaign, assisting with coordination and execution, including support for campaign message development, crafting appeals, and assisting peer-to-peer fundraisers
- Support the Board Fundraising Committee in sponsorship outreach, ticket sales, and donor stewardship, providing necessary materials and guidance
Business Partnerships and Sponsorships
- Identify and secure new business sponsorships and partnerships
- Create sponsorship proposals to attract business partners
- Manage sponsor relationships to ensure benefit fulfillment and ongoing engagement
- Collaborate with the Development and Communications Director and LCHT Board to integrate business partnerships into LCHT’s broader fundraising strategy
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit management, public administration, marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a focus on donor stewardship, event planning, and sponsorship development
- Excellent communication skills with a talent for crafting compelling donor messaging
- Experience in donor data management and/or CRM systems (Salesforce NPSP preferred)
- Proven ability to manage fundraising events, coordinate logistics, and engage attendees
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
- Experience with business sponsorship outreach and corporate partnerships
- Familiarity with online fundraising platforms (e.g., FundraiseUp, Classy, or similar)
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial management and basic accounting
- Basic graphic design and marketing software experience (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, or similar)
LOCATION/HOURS
- Full-time, exempt position
- Hybrid work environment; Denver preferred, Colorado-based required

$62,000-$69,000/year + a generous benefits package
