Summary

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is a component within the Executive Office of the President that helps Federal departments and agencies implement the commitments and priorities of the President. OMB is seeking candidates for a Student Trainee position.


We are seeking students through the Pathways Internship Program that have strong communication skills and are innovative, analytical, and results-oriented problem solvers who will thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.



Duties

Student intern trainees will work independently and as a part of teams of professionals and other students to support the Human Capital (HC) Branch with activities regarding Employee Relations, Performance Management and Appraisal Program, Awards and Employee Recognition, and Employee Engagement. They will be required to multitask between developing collaborations, data collection exercises and other tasks in a fast-paced environment; assist with research and gathering technical requirements; and provide support to supervisor and staff on projects. Bring creativity and a collaborative attitude to a team environment.


Under direct supervision, HC Student Trainees will perform the following duties:


Creating profiles of new employees in USA Performance.

Supporting awards program by serving as administrative liaison, organizing award nominations, printing certificates and assisting with logistics of the day for OMB's Annual Awards Ceremony.

Preparing written correspondence, reports, and/or documentation pertaining to Workforce Effectiveness Programs (i.e. employee relations, performance management, leave flexibilities).

Researching and communicating on agency/federal wide policies and regulations related to employee relations, performance management and leave flexibilities.

Communicating with employees who were selected for random drug testing and follows up with management officials, as needed.
