The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders, who continue to sacrifice life and limb for our country.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation seeks a highly enthusiastic,result-driven, positive, and charismatic professional fundraiser to join our dynamic and fast-paced Development department. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and closing major gifts and a proven record stewarding new and existing donors. Experience with one-on-one solicitations with donors is preferred, and a strong commitment to the mission is paramount.

Duties and responsibilities

· Develop in-depth knowledge of our extensive fundraising and foundation programs and emerging events and initiatives to ensure full understanding and accurate representation when communicating to funders.

· Facilitate all phases of donor outreach, retention, and correspondence in a set regional territory of the United States focused on major gift donors.

· Document all correspondence and stewardship efforts in CRM, including basic research done through platforms like WealthEngine.

· Secure introductory meetings with donors and prospects with the intention of securing major gifts.

· Solicit and engage new donors at the five and six-figure level.

· Work in collaboration across the development department and foundation as a whole.

· Energetically and enthusiastically, represent the Foundation at fundraising events as needed.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5+ years’ experience in fundraising or related fields.

· Extremely organized, able to work independently and manage tasks from start to completion, meeting deadlines.

· Exceptional attention to detail, high-level task accuracy, and pride in a well-done job.

· Excellent written and oral communication, as well as interpersonal skills.

· Comfortable using video conferencing, phone calls, and text messaging to move relationships forward.

· Ability to track and manage multiple projects at one time.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, and other online gift portals.

· Quick learner, team player, and ready to take on any challenge.

· Willingness to travel regularly.

Working conditions

Special working conditions may include a change in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (outdoors or other locations) when participating and assisting in special events such as: the NYC Tunnel to Towers Run, T2T Tower Climb, Annual "Footsteps to the Future" Gala, and traveling to home dedication ceremonies as required for program recipients other fundraising events, as needed.
