Ranking Member Martin Heinrich (D-NM) seeks a Professional Staff Member to join the Democratic staff of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee to cover issues related to the energy grid, electricity markets, carbon management, hydropower, interregional transmission, and coal. Primary responsibilities include conducting research, developing and composing oversight letters, monitoring, developing and drafting legislation, preparing the Senator for Committee hearings, meeting with stakeholders, and other responsibilities. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, have strong writing and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have expertise working on energy policy, particularly grid and infostructure policy. This is not an entry level position; applicants should have 5-8 years of related policy experience. The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000.
