POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Economic Empowerment Specialist, provides overall coordination of economic mobility services via “EEP+”, a program in the Economic Empowerment Programs department offering services that support survivors of gender-based violence in improving their economic mobility through targeted skills-based, vocational, educational trainings, and assistance with obtaining employment. Co-designs economic mobility service offerings, as well as coordinates

training. Provides case management and employment services; supports survivors in implementation and monitoring of appropriate service plans to meet identified economic mobility needs. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Senior Director of EEP to design programming for “EEP+”, focused on improving the economic mobility for survivors of gender-based violence in need of more individualized economic empowerment, employment, and fluency/literacy services 
  • Coordination of economic mobility focused training for survivors of gender-based violence 
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative partnerships with community-based organizations, employers, staffing firms, temp agencies, and cooperative businesses to expand the pipeline of employment for EEP+ clients  
  • Oversee the EEP+ program and provide direct client services including intake and assessment, job search and career counseling, resume and cover letter writing and editing, assistance with intermediary contact with employers, and routine case management Implementation and
  • monitoring of appropriate service plans to meet identified economic mobility needs for victims of gender-based violence 
  • Help to ensure EEP meets or exceeds program goals and outcome requirements 
  • Collaborate closely with other internal Sanctuary providers, including legal staff, clinical staff, shelter staff to ensure client stability and support 
  • Support Senior Director of EEP in any other duties or special projects as needed 


REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree preferred in liberal arts, social sciences, human services or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in program coordination, economic development, workforce development or related focus 
  • Experience launching working cooperatives and developing training for entrepreneurs strongly preferred 
  • Supervisory experience or experience in directing the work of volunteers and interns is desirable 
  • Ability to think strategically and operationally by setting priorities and monitoring progress toward goals and objectives 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize; excellent attention to detail 
  • Ability to adapt to and understand different environments and constituencies 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as digital fluency 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrable commitment to serving at-risk population required 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required 
  • Understanding of and ability to work with people of diverse national, ethnic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds 
  • Commitment to working to end gender-based violence 


Budgeted Salary: $65,813 - $72,698 per year; based on relevant experience, pursuant to wage scale in accordance with collective bargaining agreement 

Work position is Full-time; Salaried/ Exempt

Work schedule is currently Hybrid; must be able to meet job location schedule obligations
