Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and organized Part-Time Program Coordinator to support our team in managing key grant projects and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy, climate action, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with various partners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. NYS Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Climate and Energy Network Coordination:
- Assist in the connection of NYSERDA Regional Clean Energy Hub/P2P partnerships.
- Facilitate communication with P2P partners.
- Assist in the coordination of regional clean energy events/forums.
- Help organize and manage monthly meetings.
- Edit and post recordings of meetings.
- Promote meeting content and activities on social media platforms.
- Engage and enroll new Peer members to help achieve success
2. Long Island Clean Energy Hub (LICEH) Coordination:
- Participate in team meetings for the Long Island Clean Energy Hub.
- Assist with LICEH responsibilities, including project management and coordination.
- Work closely with LICEH Energy Advisors and Community Navigators to assist residents and communities with clean energy opportunities and transition benefits.
- Coordinate LICEH promotional messaging for events and activities.
3. Administrative Assistance:
- Work closely with the Executive Director to continue the momentum with clean energy initiatives, specifically focused on community engagement, furthering offshore wind, solar, and battery storage.
- Provide support with fundraisers, events, and staff development.
- Monitor and maintain reLI’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- Draft engaging and informative social media posts to promote reLI’s mission, events, and initiatives.
- Monitor trends and news related to environmental issues and engage with the online community.
- Assist in drafting press releases, media advisories, and other written materials.
- Contribute to the development of content for reLI’s website and newsletters.
- Help create visually appealing materials, including infographics, presentations, and videos.
Qualifications:
- Work Location: The ideal candidate for this position is based on Long Island
- Either 2 years of education in the field(s) of sustainability, renewable energy, environmental science, or a similar field, OR 2 years experience working in this field.
- Strong interest in renewable energy and sustainability.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competency in communicating effectively with members of the public and stakeholders from a variety of political and social backgrounds
- Proficiency in social media platforms and content management (Canva, Hootsuite).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with event planning and administrative tasks is a plus.
- Familiarity with NYSERDA programs and partnerships is an advantage.
- Strong local connections are a plus
