Spirit of America seeks an exceptional, mission-driven individual to serve as the Project Specialist, reporting to the Chief of International Operations (CIO) and based in Arlington, VA. The Project Specialist’s mission is to carry out critical initiatives and projects to further the mission of the International Operations team. They are an independent self-starter who will be an essential part of a high-performing team that is making groundbreaking contributions to freedom, democracy, and America’s security.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Spirit of America’s strategy, goals, and priorities. Collaborate with the CIO and Regional Directors to advance International Operations strategy and executing International Operations initiatives.
  • Partner with the CIO and Regional Directors to proactively plan for future opportunities to achieve program objectives. Help evaluate team priorities, anticipate needs, and evaluate risks.
  • Coordinate internal and external special projects, compile information, and complete complex reports and analysis on topics that are strategically important, aligned to organizational goals, and drive programmatic outcomes.
  • Research and prepare materials, briefings, talking points, speech drafts or presentations and proposals on a variety of International Operations matters for internal and external audiences.
  • Assist CIO in managing International Operations support functions, including but not limited to administrative support, meeting planning and preparation, constituent relations, policy and process management, and personnel security and risk.
  • Support CIO to cultivate and maintain strategic external relationships with senior military, diplomatic, government, and NGO leaders, both domestically and internationally.
  • Provide project support for regional programs and initiatives, as needed.
  • Other tasks as required to execute the International Operations mission.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience, including experience working internationally
  • A positive, can-do attitude and high emotional intelligence
  • Strong, strategic analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and project management skills
  • Strong organizational skills to concurrently perform and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters, a high level of professionalism, tact and diplomacy are paramount.

Work outside normal business hours is required. Occasional domestic and international travel may be necessary.

Compensation

Salary range $68,000 to $82,000 based on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, and 403b contribution match to 4%.
