OMNI Institute is a 501c3 nonprofit consultancy that works with nonprofit organizations, philanthropies, government agencies, and social ventures to accelerate positive social change toward a more equitable society. We provide research, evaluation, and capacity-building services through a 100% fee-for-service project-based consulting model. We have 50+ staff located in more than a dozen US states. Our primary areas of focus include Community Health, Behavioral Health, Adult & Juvenile Justice, Economic Security, and Children & Families.
The Opportunity
OMNI Institute seeks candidates for a Learning and Development Consultant position within our Learning & Development (L&D) practice, and we strongly encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds to apply for this position (more is available at https://www.omni.org/edi).
The L&D Consultant will deliver coaching, training, planning, capacity building, and facilitation projects with community groups, nonprofit organizations, and other clients in various community-led, equity-centric processes. These processes will include community and partner engagement; training design, development and facilitation; community assessments; capacity building; strategic planning; logic model design; professional coaching; and, other organization/coalition development areas. The L&D Consultant will also deliver L&D work across our portfolio of research and evaluation projects by providing subject matter expertise in areas of facilitation, engagement, and capacity building.
This is a fully remote position, with preference for Colorado applicants.

Location
This position is a remote-based position. However, this position will have significant work within Colorado, especially in rural and frontier communities, so strong preference will be given to Colorado-based applicants.

- Deep knowledge of and experience in centering equity (especially health equity), diversity, and inclusion in your work.
- A passion for and experience in helping people, communities, and organizations through community-led processes, especially in the public health and adjacent fields.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Colorado Prevention Specialist Certification is preferred.
What this role looks like
Your work at OMNI will be primarily organized into small consulting project teams that deliver the work specified in a scope of work for a client projects. Examples include:
- Providing coaching and capacity-building support for grantees of a foundation
- Delivering a series of customized trainings for a local health department to increase their organizational capacity
- Facilitating meetings of a coalition through their needs assessment or strategic planning process.
OMNI Institute L&D team members work on 6-8 projects at one time, but this number can vary depending on the size and complexity of each project. As an L&D Consultant, you will deliver significant components of projects and support as needed the development of any project deliverables or content (training plans, facilitation guides, project reports, presentations, etc).
You will also contribute to project work across our topic and content areas at OMNI and will work with different teams and staff. Some of your work may include:
- Supporting the assessment of the needs, resources, and readiness of agencies, communities, or regions while applying and adapting different assessment models and frameworks:
- Facilitating meetings centered around data-driven planning and decision-making processes based on assessment findings.
- Facilitating distinct phases of strategic, implementation, or organizational enhancement planning.
- Executing evaluation infrastructure through logic model development.
- Delivering content-specific trainings,
- Contributing to project teams:
- Developing meeting agendas, follow-up on project tasks, managing project communications, and note-taking.
- Monitoring workplans, timelines, budget, and staffing needs to ensure that project tasks are progressing as needed to accomplish overall goals on schedule and navigate adjustments as needed.
- Serving as a client contact for projects, including conducting client meetings, maintaining strong relationships, and being a liaison between the client and internal project teams. This includes having conversations with clients around meeting agendas and action items.
- Building internal capacity:
- Create and update internal resources and/or training materials for our L&D best practice team, that support OMNI staff in building their capacity in specific L&D skills.
- Provide guidance and support to team members across the company who are working on other project components that leverage L&D skills, tools, and best practices.
- Identify key learnings and improvements from projects and contribute new and improved approaches to our knowledge management and best practice teams.
- With OMNI’s support, completion of Colorado Prevention Specialist II certification.

Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time position with a starting annual salary of $62,987 plus benefits, which include:

- PTO that begins with 3 weeks of PTO, 11 floating holidays, and an annual office closure from Dec 24-Jan 1.
