PRESS/DIGITAL ASSISTANT – The office of Congressman Josh Riley is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Press/Digital Assistant based out of his Washington, D.C. office. 

The ideal applicant will be a strong writer with a passion for press and digital engagement. Applicants should be proficient in digital graphic design and video editing. Attention to detail is a must. Ties to Upstate New York are a plus but not required. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with drafting and circulating the Congressman’s newsletter, press releases, statements, talking points, and speeches
  • Proactively drafting content in the voice of the Congressman each day in addition to quickly responding to breaking news on Capitol Hill and in the district
  • Creating videos, graphics, and other digital content that is compelling, engaging, on-brand, and error-free
  • Taking photos and videos of the Congressman at events and in meetings
  • Managing a strategic content calendar
  • Compiling the Member’s daily news clips to distribute to office staff

The salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience.

This position will sometimes require evening and weekend work and travel to the district in New York. The Press/Digital Assistant will report to the Communications Director based in Washington, D.C.
