Senior Policy Advisor

Senator Michael Bennet, chair of the Agriculture Committee’s Subcommittee on Conservation, Climate, Forestry and Natural Resources seeks a Senior Policy Advisor to handle the agriculture, rural, and natural resources portfolios. This senior level policy position will be responsible for overseeing all Agriculture Committee business, monitoring pending legislation in assigned issues areas; drafting bills and amendments; identifying legislative priorities; developing legislative proposals and strategies; providing vote recommendations; engaging with relevant Committee, House and Senate staff and key state and national stakeholders; and providing written and oral briefings to the Senator.

Western ties, a graduate degree, and Hill experience are all a plus. Ideal candidates are hardworking and detail-oriented self-starters; team players, able to work both collaboratively and individually; excellent oral and written communicators, with superior research skills; able to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines; enthusiastic, collegial, and professional.
