The Communications Specialist – Insights plays a critical role in identifying important business issues, industry news, and recapping campaign metrics for Disney’s Parks, Experiences & Products (DPEP) segment, which includes The Walt Disney Company’s global theme parks and resorts, cruise line, Walt Disney Imagineering, and consumer products businesses. The role will be responsible for real-time analysis and monitoring of global traditional and digital media, providing stakeholders with actionable intelligence. The role is part of the global the DPEP Communications Analytics and Insights team and will be based in Glendale, Calif.

Responsibilities :

Provides real-time media monitoring, analysis, and research support, across traditional and digital media platforms, for global stakeholders within DPEP.

Delivers ad-hoc cross-platform reports and insights quickly to assist stakeholders with time sensitive business decisions and issues management/crisis response.

Quickly synthesizes information from a variety of sources to identify communication risks and opportunities and make recommendations that contribute to the development of effective public affairs strategies.

Creates timely reports for flagship campaigns across all key performance metrics, with analysis of sentiment, key themes, relative importance based on reach and message pull-through.

Proactively identifies and actively monitors trends relevant to the Disney parks and consumer products business and communicate findings/recommendations to key leaders.

Serves as a consultant and resource to sites around the globe on monitoring activities.

Researches, analyzes, benchmarks, provides recommendations and implements a “best in class” media monitoring function within DPEP.

Brings proficiency in media analytics and research tools such as: Netbase, CrimsonHexagon, Critical Mention, TVEyes, Dataminr, Cision and Factiva.

Basic Qualifications :

Minimum of 2 years of media analytics and research experience working with global brands or agency experience.

Strong project management skills.

Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and several time-sensitive projects at once in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.

Must possess a positive/can-do attitude and be able to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.

Proven ability to lead and motivate a high-performing team

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Ability to have flexible work schedule to accommodate extended operational hours necessary for supporting global clients in Europe and Asia.

Excellent knowledge and understanding of digital metrics and the wider digital industry.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to demonstrate subject matter authority and expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with advanced boolean query building.

Previous experience working in the Travel and Leisure, Entertainment and/or Consumer Goods Industry.

Bi-lingual abilities.
