A Republican Senator and member of the Armed Services Committee seeks an experienced National Security Advisor to provide policy expertise on defense, intelligence, and foreign affairs. This individual will be responsible for advising the Senator on national security matters, developing legislative initiatives, and engaging with key stakeholders. The role includes monitoring and analyzing legislative developments, geopolitical trends, and security threats while drafting policy briefs, memos, and hearing questions. The advisor will collaborate with relevant Senate committees, including the Armed Services, and engage with federal agencies, military officials, and foreign diplomats. Additionally, they will provide recommendations on national security-related legislation and amendments, assist with constituent inquiries, and brief the Senator before key votes and hearings. While previous Capitol Hill experience is preferred, former military experience is required.
