Job Posting: Constituent Liaison (Part-Time)

Location: Bronx, NY (In-Person

Schedule: Part-Time (Some evenings/weekends required)

Salary: $18,000 - 22,000


Position Summary

The Constituent Liaison will support the District Manager in fostering strong community engagement and delivering direct constituent support. This role involves working closely with residents to address concerns related to government programs and services, helping to organize public events, and ensuring responsive communication between the office and the community.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement

  • Serve as a reliable and informed point of contact for constituents with questions or concerns related to government services.
  • Represent the Assemblymember at community meetings, events, and public forums.
  • Assist in planning and organizing district events, press conferences, and rallies.

Constituent Communications

  • Respond to inquiries from the public (via phone, email, letters, and social media) in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
  • Monitor local news and social media to stay informed on community issues and concerns.
  • Help share important district updates through flyers, emails, newsletters, and other communication channels.

Problem Solving

  • Track constituent concerns and issues, and report patterns or recurring challenges.
  • Engage with city and state agencies to resolve constituent matters and keep the internal team informed.

Relationship Building

  • Cultivate relationships with key contacts at government agencies and local organizations.
  • Assist with organizing community meetings to gather input on legislative and neighborhood priorities.

Tracking & Reporting

  • Report on relevant community developments and trends.
  • Provide regular updates to the team on outreach efforts and issue resolution status.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in a public-facing role such as customer service, government, community relations, or public affairs.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Professional demeanor and strong customer service etiquette.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

Work Environment

  • This is a part-time, in-person role.
  • Must be available to work from the district office (Bronx) and attend community events and meetings.
  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required based on event schedules.
