Democratic Chair of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee seeking qualified candidates to work on telecommunications policy issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing legislative and policy proposals; conducting agency oversight; drafting policy memoranda; attending constituent and stakeholder meetings; and preparing for Congressional hearings and floor debate. Applicants must have a significant understanding of the telecommunications industry and related policy and legal issues, including substantial knowledge about government regulatory agencies including the Federal Communications Commission and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. A successful candidate must have a record of being proactive, demonstrating initiative, and working well under pressure. Candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate leadership capabilities. The position requires strategic thinking and the ability to work independently and manage a team.
