Work you’ll do

The Policy Communications Strategy Consultant will be responsible for advising Deloitte’s Government and Public Sector clients through critical and complex issues, providing strategic planning, policy analysis, and executive support to government or international organizations. They will have the opportunity to advocate for the establishment and evolution of modern technological capabilities and prepare organizations for challenges to mitigate risks. Our GPS practice brings deep industry expertise, rigorous analytical capabilities and a pragmatic mindset to solve our client’s most complex business problems. Deloitte’s Government and Public Services (GPS) practice – our people, ideas, technology and outcomes—is designed for impact. Serving federal, state, & local government clients as well as public higher education institutions, our team of over 15,000+ professionals brings fresh perspective to help clients anticipate disruption, reimagine the possible, and fulfill their mission promise.

The GPS Strategy offering leads strategic planning & portfolio management and reporting & monitoring workstreams. This includes day-to-day client interaction and leads to the creation of relevant resources and materials (such as strategic plans, roadmaps, etc.) and work products (such as development of performance metrics, tracking dashboards, etc.) in order to successfully implement client vision.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site in Washington, DC 3+ days a week
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
  • 7+ years of professional experience (or 5+ years of professional experience with a Masters degree)
  • 5+ years of Executive Support experience in the field of Government Policy Analysis
  • Management consulting experience in the Government or Public Sector
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Innovation Strategy Change Management and Strategy Strategic Policy Development
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:

  • Ability to “tell a story” through the creation of compelling client presentations
  • Experience working independently with minimal guidance
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgment
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
  • Creative Writing experience
  • Government Planning Internal Communications experience
