Introduction


The Wisconsin Assembly Democratic Caucus Fellowship Program is aimed at promoting career opportunities and learning experiences for students of historically under-represented communities including racial/ethnic minorities, women, people with disabilities, and veterans.

Legislative fellows will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects related to diverse policy issues and regional concerns. Responsibilities in this role will include various tasks such as constituent casework, committee tracking, press monitoring, and legislative research.

Salary Information


Fellows will be expected to work a minimum of 20 hours or more per week based on their availability and will earn $15.00 per hour.

Fellowship positions run concurrent with academic semesters, and fellows who wish to return must reapply for subsequent semesters. The current posted position will run from early September to mid-December.

Qualifications

  • A desire to be engaged in the political process
  • Good interpersonal communications skills
  • An ability to work well in a team setting
  • High level organizational and time management skills
  • Be enrolled and/or attend a two or four year college/university or a vocational/technical school program. May also be a graduate or in graduate school.
  • Prior political office experience is not required.
