Aeyon is seeking a Legislative & Oversight Coordination (LCO) Project Control Specialist II in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). In this prominent role, the Project Control Specialist will supports communications between OUSD(A&S) and agencies such as the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General (DOD OIG). The Project Control Specialist manages the day-to-day activities associated with tracking, tasking, and responding to GAO and DoD OIG audits while providing support for administrative taskings and special projects. This position reports to the Team Chief for Legislative and Congressional Oversight.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the lifecycle management and tracking of GAO and OIG audit taskings on behalf of OUSD(A&S).
  • Maintain close relationships with DoD counterparts and OUSD(A&S) staff to facilitate prompt actions on GAO and OIG audit taskings.
  • Provide support and guidance on A&S, GAO, and OIG audit workflow processes and policies to OUSD(A&S) staff.
  • Review and create records for all new incoming audit announcements and reports.
  • Notify government staff and leadership of new audit announcements; ensuring appropriate government representation is provided to auditors.
  • Review and ensure all A&S responses to audit reports obtain necessary coordination.
  • Work with Department of Defense Washington Headquarter Services (WHS) & DoD Audit Management Division GAO liaisons and Office of the Inspector General auditors to ensure that requests for information and updates are shared with relevant OUSD(A&S) staff.
  • Serve as the Point of Contact for information requests, provide responses to audit reports, and briefings to leadership as needed.
  • Create monthly reports on GAO and OIG audit information and tasking deadlines for government leadership using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Review and coordinate on congressional correspondence, ensuring that packages have all appropriate elements, approvals, and comply with the DoD writing manual.
  • Maintain content on LCO Share Point site.

Experience Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • 1-5 years prior DoD experience in a headquarters level or OSD setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to brief senior government officials.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills, to include experience tracking tasks and outcomes from multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to triage tasks and effectively deliver successful outcomes on tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Department of Defense internal document process and workflow databases such as Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS).
  • Knowledge of DoD writing policies and procedures.
  • Experience with SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word Editing Techniques, Excel, and ability to query and navigate outlook with rules technical expertise highly desired.

Preferred:

  • Power BI Experience Highly Desired.
