The Program Manager  manages programming for Macalester's Entrepreneurship and Innovation department including the Idea Lab. This role collaborates with the Director and other on-campus partners to create and implement programming. Additionally, the Program Manager offers administrative support to the Director. Manages operational calendar and budgets.

This role requires being onsite 4 days a week, with the option to work from home one day a week. The daily work hours are 8:30am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities

Program Management:

  • Provides well-organized, multi-faceted administrative support to ensure efficient operations of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation (E&I) programs and events.
  • Manages operational calendar for E&I including timing of applications and deadlines, training, programs, and events.
  • Administers application process for MacNest, Live It Fund, MacStartups, and Macathon. This includes planning, marketing, selecting, implementing, evaluating and budgeting.
  • Plans and facilitates program-related meetings and training, including information sessions, launch meetings, budget training, cohort meetings, etc.
  • Provides support to students who participate in E&I programming.
  • Designs program assessments and student and stakeholder surveys in alignment with Student Affairs guidelines and Macalester Assessment office, maintaining organization in Google Shared Drive.
  • Collaborates with campus partners to deliver programming and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Partners include International Student Programs, Career Exploration, Hamre Center for Health and Wellness, and academic departments.
  •  Support diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives; actively works to eliminate barriers to participation and consistently participates in DEI-related professional development.
  • Ensures programs are in compliance with Macalester policies and procedures 
  • Provide input and support for departmental planning, policy development, and strategic initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement and Student Outreach

  • Collaborate with various campus partners, including International Student Programs, Career Exploration, Hamre Center for Health and Wellness, and academic departments, to support and enhance student programming initiatives.
  • Foster positive working relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Increase student engagement and participation in programs.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, working to eliminate barriers to participation and consistently participating in DEI-related professional development.
  • Serve as a point of contact for students, assisting with inquiries, providing information about departmental programs, and supporting advising processes.
  • Be available to support department events including Macathon, our E&I marquee event as well as the Summer Showcase, MacNest, and Live It Fund presentations.
  • Collaborates with on-campus partners such as Advancement and Facilities Services to plan and execute effective events.

Administrative Support:

  • Provides administrative support to the Director and to faculty teaching courses sponsored by E&I.
  • Ensures the department G-Drive is well-maintained, organized and secure.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in budget management and analysis. 
  • Excellent organizational skills for program, project, and event management. 
  • Strong writing and communication skills. 
  • Strong experience with calendar and scheduling management. 
  • Proficient in Google, Wordpress, Instagram.

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be $54,560-$57040, depending on experience.
