The ACLU seeks applicants for the full-time position of Manager, Donor Acquisition in the Development Department of the ACLU’s National Office in New York, NY.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Donor Acquisition, the Manager, Donor Acquisition will manage and support the implementation of the ACLU’s acquisition plans for the organization’s primarily offline, non-sustainer acquisition programs, including quantitative and qualitative goals to grow the ACLU’s Supporter Marketing file.
The Manager, Donor Acquisition works closely with the Acquisition and Production teams and across the ACLU’s Supporter Marketing team on acquisition plan implementation, helping ensure the cohesion and smooth operation of a rapidly growing program. The successful candidate will review data, set ups, and testing strategies and monitor deadlines for outbound acquisition campaigns in collaboration with various vendors and consulting partners.
The Manager, Donor Acquisition will be a seasoned project manager with a proven track record of handling campaigns that successfully engage prospects and maximize lifetime donor value. Comfort working with high volumes of data and collaborating with diverse teams is essential for success in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- With Associate Director, Acquisition and consulting partners, manage multiple deadlines and deliverables for multi-channel acquisition plans, including data management, copy review, and submission of invoices
- Work with Associate Director, Donor Acquisition and partners to review acquisition list plans, monitor owed balances, and manage list rental and exchange requests
- Regularly prepare progress reports on campaign goals, revenue, and the number of new donor audiences
- Collaborate with Donor Upgrade, Retention, and Sustainer teams to develop effective donor journeys for new constituents
- Partner with the Digital team to implement tests for multi-channel, coordinated offers to select acquisition audiences
- Collaborate with members of other teams, including Analytics, as needed
- For acquisition partners, provide regular FAQs, update talking points, and participate in briefings; work with list modeling partners to continually improve list performance
- Stay current on direct marketing trends to assist with maximizing opportunities for the ACLU’s development efforts

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new technologies
- Ability to manage projects involving multiple stakeholders through several rounds of review, from concept to execution
- Prior direct marketing experience, including experience implementing omni-channel campaigns for large audiences across channels
- Understanding of fundraising KPIs, marketing tactics, and evolving market
- Comfort working with large sets of data
- Ability to apply sound judgement and to maintain donor confidentiality
- Passion for the mission and work of the ACLU
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Direct marketing experience, including experience implementing fundraising appeals for large audiences across channels
- Ability to onboard and manage third-party vendors, consultant, and resources effectively
- Demonstrated experience developing audience segmentation plans
- Experience with non-profit fundraising
- Experience galvanizing communities offline around critical issues using engaging copy, design, and calls-to-action
COMPENSATION
The ACLU values equity, transparency, and clarity in pay. Consistent with the ACLU’s compensation philosophy, there is a set salary for this role. The annual salary for this position is $99,612 (Level H), reflective of a position based in New York, NY, where our National offices are headquartered. This salary will be subject to a locality adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
